I have found that unless I am making a big batch of food for a crowd, store bought sauces work for this single girl. And the choices are far more numerous for vegetarians and vegans now. The sesame dressing & marinade I found at Costco is delicious! If you can’t find it locally, you can find it on Amazon.
Ingredients
1 bag Butler Soy curls, I pulled the large pieces and left the crumbles for another dish
Enough warm water to cover and rehydrate curls, 1-1.5 cups
Kewpie Sesame dressing & marinade
If you are vegan, select a different brand such as Thrice Sesame Satay Sauce or Fody Foods ½ to ¾ cup Sesame Ginger Sauce
Directions
Separate the large curls from the crumbs. Store the crumbs for another dish or meal. In a medium bowl, rehydrate for 15-30 minutes in warm water. I cover my bowl with a towel for good measure. After they have rehydrated, place in a salad spinner, spin as much water from the curls as you can. Place back in bowl, pour sesame dressing and toss to mix well. Set aside for about 30 minutes to marinate.
Preheat your air fryer at 400 degrees. Remove curls from bowl of marinade and shake excess sauce from curls. I had enough curls to cook two batches. Place enough curls for form a solid layer in the fryer basket, it’s okay if they touch. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket every 2 minutes. Remove from air fryer when they are brown and glazed.
Dip your curls in the dressing and enjoy!
