You know the saying, when one door closes another one opens.
I’ve been thinking a great deal about this since the beginning of the year. I have had so many doors close in my life, that I really should collect antique doors. With glass door knobs. And a glass section at the top. And arrange them as dividers in my garden and along my fence. Wait a minute, a fence made of doors! That is my dream.
Ultimately, all of those doors did open again. From job moves to relationship lessons to career changes to living space locations to health issues that may have very well been quite serious. But they were not, even a cancer diagnosis to a tumor in my head. All treatable.
Interestingly enough, I considered the health issues a knock on the door. It dawned on me that things were just not right and went to my doctor, in some cases I went to ER. With relationships, I learned that the time had passed and it was no longer “right”. And, that was okay by me. Even when Paul died, I accepted that it was his time whether I liked it or not.
The most interesting lesson I have learned is how I have evolved as a woman as I grow. It is a gift to be able to observe the changes that brought wisdom.
I am really looking forward to the next few years of less chaos and more doors opening!
