Sunday Football in Style with Tuna Poke

I watch NFL football in style. So today, I made tuna poke. I am fortunate that my local Costco carries very good grade ahi tuna, and a small package caught my eye this weekend. I knew in my heart of hearts that poke was it’s destination. I had all the ingredients at home. The only problem was that I have about ten poke recipes, and it was time to combine for a “master” recipe. Naturally, I must share! Who wants to stop by for lunch?

NOTE: I updated this on March 13, 2017 because I am craving tuna poke. I was looking at other recipes, stunned by how complicated some people made this. If you want easy, fewer ingredients, this is for you!

Ingredients

Combine all but the tuna, then add cut tuna

1 lb wild ahi grade tuna, cut into bite size pieces

1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce or tamari

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions, green  & white parts

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon ginger, minced OR I now use The Ginger People Organic Ginger Juice

1 tablespoon Sriracha hot chili sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon fresh orange juice

Combine all ingredients and chill for at least two hours. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped macadamia nuts.
