A Great Goodbye to 2023 Me

What can I say? 2023 was a great year and yet full of surprises mixed with oddities. I don’t want to call those oddities disappointments because they were simply the speed bumps of life.

Most of all, I had an exciting year of discovery. It was all about many life changes, too. I had a great deal of questions from the very start.

I have learned that I know things in advance: if the person is honest, if I should look both ways at a traffic light even if that light was green for my direction, or if I should tune out and meditate.

I absorb other people’s emotions to the point where I am compelled to stop and help in any way that I can. This past year I was uniquely in situations where I was in the right place at the right time for family and friends. I just knew where I needed to be.

Another thing I truly learned about myself is just how much I step in to help others. I am told I am generous, but the compliment did not sink in quite like it did last year. I lend myself to help without even thinking about it. I just do what is needed. I really should have been a mother…

The best of 2023 was live music. Oh my gosh, the music scene here in Southwest Idaho has become top notch. This region is finally attracting artists of tremendous talent. May that music habit blossom this year, starting with my Treefort Music Festival pass. Yay me!

What did you learn last year and what are your hopes for 2024?
