I follow @MichaelChatman on Twitter because he is the sort of positive I want in my life from people that make a difference. From following others, I learn to improve myself, to become a better person. I admire their ideas, their passion for the greater good, and their passion for spreading the word for what America seems to need right now, in the midst of complete and utter chaos.
I encourage you all to look in to his hashtag to read what others who follow are promising to themselves, #IPromiseMyself on Twitter.
I encourage you to pick up this habit of making a promise to yourself, too.
If anything, promise yourself at least once a week to set a challenge to broaden your horizons in one way or another: reading more is a good start.
Promise yourself to be a better friend, lover, wife, husband, sibling, son, daughter, mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandparent.
Promise yourself to be a better citizen that listens.
Promise yourself to be kinder to yourself.
Promise yourself to give a daily gift, which can be as simple as letting another go ahead in traffic or holding a door for the person behind you.
Promise yourself to be aware of your words, your actions, your thoughts.
